I'm not a big fan of lofty, wordy or pompous artist's statements.  I paint what I like and what makes me feel good. I don't believe all art needs to make a social statement. I don't do angry art. I'm not a tortured sole. Life is too stressful for me to create a piece full of stress and then hang that piece on a wall.

I have been creating art my entire life. I remember drawing at a very early age.  I started using watercolors at around 4 or 5 years old. I picked up pen and ink in my early teens and acrylics by 15.  I am an avid photographer - photography gives me the reference material for all of my paintings.

Currently I am working almost solely in acrylics on panel.  Acrylics give me the fast drying time which can be extended without the fuss, smell and cleanup required by oils.  Acrylics are actually far more stable over time and will not peel and crack as ALL oil paints will do over time. I paint on wood panels because they are very sturdy, will last virtually forever, they don't bend and provide a smoother surface that any fabric can provide.

I work in my studio in our house in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia, USA.
